In "The Soil and the Sea," a documentary directed by Professor Daniele Rugo, the haunting legacy of the Lebanese Civil War is brought to light, exposing the harrowing reality of over 100 untouched mass graves hidden beneath the country's landscape.

Over three decades after the conflict's end, the stories of 17,000 disappeared individuals remain untold. "After making a film with the perpetrators, there seemed to be a need for one that addressed the victims and the legacy of the conflict. This film came about from conversations that started while we screened About a War in Lebanon in 2019," says Rugo.
