Enquiries are very welcome for joint supervision, industry partnerships and collaborative research opportunities. We work on specific problems that we are interested in and pursue exciting ideas. We want to address important questions, stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, and to perform excellent science. Current PhD opportunities are generally self-funded. Additive Manufacturing and 4D Printing will bring new horizons for exciting products and breakthrough applications that are sustainable and to support Industry 4.0. Our research group focuses work on these areas:
- Computer-Aided-Design, Simulation and Interfaces for 4D Printing;
- Functionally Graded Additive Manufacturing; Additive Manufacturing Processes for 4D Printing;
- Mechanical Metamaterials; Programmable Materials and Stimuli-Responsive Materials for 4D Printing;
- Mathematical Modelling; Predictive Computational Analysis for 4D Printing;
- Artificial Intelligence; Generative Design for 4D Printing.
We welcome Doctoral Researchers (PhD students) to study at Brunel University London to explore the following topics, including but not limited to:

- Generative Design and Lattice Structures for Additively Manufactured Parts
