We are an interdisciplinary group of political scientists and historians working on vital international problems like security and intelligence, or violent conflict. This includes topics such as terrorism, civil war, protest movements, or the connection between environmental disaster and conflict. Our research is highly sought-after by beneficiaries around the world, including the European Union’s Intelligence and Situation Centre, the Dubai police, the NGO African Parks Network, or the GLOBSEC Intelligence Reform Initiative in Slovakia. Our historians have been heavily involved in activities to mark the Centennial of the First World War, through numerous media appearances, a sixth form conference, or a presentation to The Joint Services Command and Staff College for the Jutland Centenary event.
