The Games Research Lab at Brunel is a space for cross disciplinary explorations, collaborations, experimental projects, and applied research, and a hub for research in applied gaming and beyond. Based within the Arts and Humanities Department, in the College of Arts, Business and Social Sciences, the lab offers access to cutting-edge technology such as the latest augmented and mixed reality devices, biometric sensor unit for games user research, adaptive controllers, IoT sensors, a large format printer, gaming consoles, podcast and streaming equipment, and large digital displays.
Our philosophy is that innovation comes from collaboration, so the lab is currently being built on a sustainable model for cross-disciplinary and cross-domain collaborations that enable and support multidirectional projects between academic practitioners, artists, scientists, and engineers. A plan for residencies is under development and the lab space and equipment can be hired for any gaming research project by non-research organisations.
If you are interested in our residencies scheme, to use the space, or have a project idea, please contact Mariza Dima or the most appropriate to your project idea person from the team.
