Brunel University of London and the China Scholarship Council PhD Scholarship 2025/26

This scholarship program offers academically outstanding Chinese students the opportunity to pursue a PhD at Brunel University of London. The scholarships are jointly supported by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and Brunel University of London.

Twenty (20) full scholarships are available for PhD studies at Brunel University of London, commencing in September 2025. Scholarships are available in all Colleges at Brunel as well as BCAST.

Brunel University of London will provide full tuition fees (up to 48 months) for each successful candidate.

The China Scholarship Council will provide each scholarship recipient with a stipend for living costs (including medical insurance), one international round trip economy class airfare between China and the UK, and reimbursement for one-off visa application fees.

Eligibility

• Candidates must be citizens of the People's Republic of China. Overseas Chinese students may be eligible for application subject to CSC policy at the time.
• Candidates must have a strong academic background.
• Candidates must meet academic and English entry requirements set by the University (https://www.brunel.ac.uk/research/Research-degrees).
• Candidates will require a visa to enter the UK (https://www.brunel.ac.uk/international/visas-and-immigration).
• Applicants currently in the first year of a PhD programme at Brunel University of London are also eligible to apply. If successful, CSC Scholarship funding will start from the beginning of the second year of the PhD.
• Candidates must also fulfil the CSC’s criteria. Please see details from CSC’s website: https://www.csc.edu.cn/chuguo.

How to apply?

At the time of applying to CSC, it is beneficial if the applicant already has an unconditional offer of a place at Brunel to study for a PhD. An offer can only be unconditional if Brunel University of London’s English language criteria has been satisfied.

1. Contact the relevant Department at Brunel to identify a suitable supervisor. You may contact individual academic staff directly, and can find details about research expertise and staff at https://www.brunel.ac.uk/people.
2. Apply for PhD admission via https://www.brunel.ac.uk/research/Research-degrees/How-to-apply before Friday 3 January 2025. Early applications are highly recommended.
3. Applicants must specify in their online application that you will be applying for the BUL/CSC Joint Scholarship Scheme, and preferably include the name of the potential supervisor in their application.
4. We expect to be able to choose the final candidates by the end of February 2025. Successful candidates will be issued with an offer letter confirming conditional or unconditional admission.This offer letter must be submitted to CSC along with your application to them.
5. Nominated students must then apply directly to the CSC during the application window (estimated to be late March 2025). Please check the CSC’s website for details.
6. Brunel expects to receive the list of successful candidates from CSC in June 2025.
7. Students are expected to start their PhD studies in September 2025.

伦敦布鲁内尔大学和中国国家留学基金委博士奖学金项目 2025/26

共设置20个全额博士奖学金名额，学生从2025年9月开始入读。项目的专业囊括布鲁内尔大学的所有学院以及BCAST中心。

伦敦布鲁内尔大学将为每位成功录取的学生提供全部学费（最长 48 个月）。

中国国家留学基金委将为每位奖学金获得者提供生活补贴费（包括医疗保险）、一张中英国际往返经济舱机票，以及一次性签证申请费。

申请资格

• 申请人必须是中华人民共和国公民。海外中国学生也可能有资格申请，届时请查看 CSC官方网站上的相关政策。
• 申请人必须具有良好的学术背景。
• 申请人必须符合伦敦布鲁内尔大学规定的学术和英语入学要求，详情请查看相关的网址（https://www.brunel.ac.uk/research/Research-degrees）。
• 申请人需要申请英国签证（https://www.brunel.ac.uk/international/visas-and-immigration）。
• 目前在伦敦布鲁内尔大学攻读博士学位一年级的申请人也有资格申请。如果申请成功，CSC 奖学金将从博士学位的第二年开始发放。

如何申请

在向 CSC 申请时，申请人最好已经获得布鲁内尔大学攻读博士学位的无条件录取通知书。只有达到伦敦布鲁内尔大学的英语要求，才可以得到无条件录取通知书。

1. 联系布鲁内尔大学的相关院系，确定合适的导师。学生可以直接联系学术老师，并可在 https://www.brunel.ac.uk/people 上找到有关各位老师的研究方向和详细信息。
2. 在 2025 年 1 月 3 日（星期五）之前通过学校的网站https://www.brunel.ac.uk/research/Research-degrees/How-to-apply提交申请。我们强烈建议学生尽早申请。
3. 申请人必须在其在线申请中注明您将申请 BUL/CSC 联合奖学金项目，并且最好在申请中填写意向导师的姓名。
4. 我们预计在 2025 年 2 月底之前定出录取名单。成功入选的学生将收到一封确认有条件或无条件的录取通知书。在向CSC申请的时候，必须提交此录取通知书。
5. 被布鲁内尔大学录取的学生必须在申请窗口期间直接向 CSC 申请（预计为 2025 年 3 月下旬）。详情请查看 CSC 网站。
6. 布鲁内尔大学预计将在 2025 年 6 月收到 CSC 批准的学生名单。
7. 学生预计将于 2025 年 9 月开始攻读博士学位。
