The Social Work Division is thrilled to welcome Vida Douglas who joins Brunel University London as our new Lecturer.
Vida is a qualified Social Worker and experienced educator. Some of her previous work experience includes managing social work teams in the voluntary and statutory sectors, she has also held various roles in Higher Education, including Senior Lecturer and Principal lecturer. Vida developed her interest in learning and teaching and joined the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), as an Associate Director for Education. During her career so far, Vida has also worked for the Higher Education Academy (HEA), as the Academic Consultant for the discipline areas of Social Work and Social Policy.
Some of Vida’s research interest involves partnership working, service user and student engagement in curriculum design and staff development.
Vida successfully obtained her Senior Fellowship status with the Higher Education Academy in March 2018 and is currently undertaking her PhD at Nottingham Trent University on Staff Wellbeing in Higher Education.
