Visual Unit Indicator – A visual lighting device that informs drivers of vehicles on the road with self-driving assists.

VUI is a dash camera with an integrated visual lighting indicator aimed at vehicle commuters that have self-driving assisted vehicles. Its purpose is to inform both drivers and road users on if the vehicle is driving with autonomous assist functions and alert them in cases of emergency when a failure occurs.

The product has three main functions using its visual indicator LEDs that help to increase awareness; providing information on if the user is setting the self-driving parameters, if the system is active and working, or if the system has failed and the user is no longer in control. The LED ring displays different colours based upon the vehicle status, glowing turquoise when using assists or flashing purple when it fails.
