Developing a pervasive computing interface-environment to support independent living 'metastable' (i.e. elderly and infirm) individuals (£500K EPSRC/ DTI-Link project run by Brunel Institute of Biotechnology). We have developed the visual and speech-based interface designs for this, with two full-time research assistants assigned to the project. Completed, 2003.

Designing for mobile and distributed work: technology use in remote settings

EPSRC award in collaboration with Symbian Ltd (principal investigator: Mark Perry). The research examines how people use technological and non-technological tools for collaboration (i.e. CSCW) when away from their home office bases and where they are not co-located with colleagues. Completed, 2004

Groupsim

EPSRC 'technology networks' project investigating collaboration and the use of groupware in the development of simulation modelling. Collaboration between Simon Taylor and Mark Perry. Completed, 2003
