Mrs Emma Hedley
Lecturer (Educational) in Nursing

Summary

Emma is a lecturer in Nursing on the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Programme, a Peadiatric Nurse, Health Visitor and has undertaken addiitonal training in School Nursing. Emma found her passion for Community Nursing and health promotion whilst training at The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Emma had the opportunity to develop her nursing skills over a number of years in West Africa and this led to her working in the community as a Health Visitor. She then managed a London children looked after service for 0-18 year olds and care leavers. Emma's specialist areas of advanced clicnial practice are working with children looked after, fostering and adoption.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (Child), Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor), Different Fields of Practice in School Nursing and Nurse Prescriber.

MA in education, PGCAP, FHEA, BSc (Hons) in Community Health, Certficate in Management, Certificate in Principles in Child Protection, Diploma in Tropical Nursing, Diploma in Healthcare Studies.

Responsibility

Emma is the module lead for PGDip Transforming Specialist Community Public Health Nursing in Health Visiting and School Nursing. She is also the module lead for Learning and Teaching in Advanced Clinical Practice and Learning and Teaching in Advanced Professional Practice which form part of the Advanced Clinical Practice Programme.
