Do you really need encryption
If you do need to encrypt data you have several options. One option would be to purchase an encrypted USB stick. For information on alternative options (such as encrypting drives on your laptop), please contact the Computer Centre
Don't encrypt in place of securing access
If the data is stored on Brunel's systems, it is already secure, and should not normally need to be encrypted.
Data stored online
Accessing data via https (check the website address) ensures that data is secure in transit. For this reason, it may often be advisable to store data in a secure Brunel web repository. One option would be to make use of a personal MySite. Another option would be to store your files in a Team Site. For more information about Team Sites contact the IntraBrunel project team.
