Tailor your future with an economics and finance degree
From strong placement links and opportunities, to modules focused on giving you the skills top employers are after, our industry-accredited courses put your future career at the heart of your learning. You’ll learn transferable skills and become an independent thinker, ready for the world of economics, finance, banking and accounting through practical application.
Exceptional learning experience
Economics and Finance at Brunel goes well beyond just analysing graphs, looking into statistics and predicting growth. Our programmes blend the different concepts of economics, finance and accounting, which will inspire you to pursue your interests and help you to discover your strengths and potential career path.
You’ll gain advantages from our dynamic teaching methods, which break down complex theory into easily digestible, engaging content. You’ll be supported and surrounded by academics who are internationally respected experts in their field. Your learning experience is enriched by their cutting-edge research, meaning you’ll benefit first-hand from their work.
Accredited by professional accounting bodies
All our degrees carry accreditation by professional accounting bodies, such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). These accreditations aren’t just a seal of approval for the quality of our courses; they offer exemptions to some professional exams, which will save you time and money on the road to becoming a qualified accountant.
Flexible degrees
Our flexible first year courses mean you have time to figure out where your interests lie and what’s best for your future. First year modules are similar across all our economics and finances degrees and you don’t have to confirm your final degree choice until the end of the first year.
Brilliant industry-standard software and tools
We highly value the role of practical learning, to take your studying beyond the textbooks. You’ll enjoy round-the-clock access to our Financial Services Suite, equipped with live Bloomberg screens, as well as specialist training in industry analytical tools such as R and RStudio, Eviews and Reuters. You’ll also have the opportunity experience what it’s like to operate on the trading floor of a stock exchange and face the ‘press’ in a mock press conference and events.
Award-winning support to find your placement
Whichever Economics and Finance degree you choose, you’ll have the option to carry out a placement year. Placements are a great way to see if your future career is right for you, as well as providing the opportunity to apply your skills into real-life working environments, with real responsibilities.
Our students have recently secured placements at Morgan Stanley, the Department of Trade and Industry and HM Treasury. With the expert guidance of your personal tutor and help with CV writing, interview techniques and assessment tips from our award-winning Professional Development Centre, you’ll be supported every step of the way to find a role that suits you and your goals.
Strong industry connections
You’ll benefit from our strong ties with industry. Professional accounting bodies visit our campus each year to give our Economics and Finance students an insight into life after university. They also give expert advice into further development and its individual benefits to help you decide what is best for your future.

Our aim at Brunel is to teach you ‘employable knowledge’, which can be applied to real-world situations. Securing jobs in the economics and finance industry is highly competitive, so we’ll support you to gain a strong foundation in the skills employers are looking for.
