If you are interested in taking part in a study abroad or exchange opportunity with us at Brunel University of London, please refer to the following steps: 

Step 1: Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria

You can find out the criteria for our different study abroad options here. We are proud of our global Brunel community on campus and accept a diverse range of overseas degree and English qualifications. Please contact us if you would like to discuss your academic and English eligibility. 

  Exchange Study Abroad
Be enrolled in at least the second year of higher education at your home university.
Meet the English language requirements – IELTS 6.5 minimum or equivalent. 
Commit to a full-time programme of study during your period abroad.
Attend a university with a valid agreement with Brunel University of London.   

Step 2: Request your home institution to nominate you for an exchange programme (EXCHANGE ONLY)

If you are coming under our exchange programme, please contact the International Office at your home institution, who can advise on how to nominate you for the exchange. 

If you are coming under our Study Abroad programme, please move to step 3.  

Step 3: Select your modules 

Please make provisional module choices from the Directory of International Mobility Modules. Students are required to complete 60 credits per term. 

Please note that whilst every effort is made to ensure you can enrol onto their selected modules, we cannot always guarantee first choice selection. You will have the opportunity to discuss your choices during the first week of term and can alter the modules you have selected. 

Step 4: Go through your supporting documentation checklist

In order for us to consider your online application, please ensure you have the following documentation readily available:

  1. English language qualification or equivalent if English is not your first language. For a list of acceptable English qualifications and further information, please visit the English Language Requirements page
  2. Official academic transcript from your home institution. 
  3. Copy of valid passport ID page.
  4. A completed module selection form to make provisional module choices from the list of available modules. (Please refer to step 3 for details about module selections).

Step 5: Register your interest by contacting us with your details and module selection form

To register your interest, please email exchanges@brunel.ac.uk with the following details:

  1. Your full name
  2. Your contact email
  3. Your academic transcript
  4. Your completed module selection form.

Once received, we aim to get back to you within 5-10 working days to proceed with the next steps.
