The FCMAP Collection
The FCMAP Collection includes records from the ‘Fiction and Cultural Mediations of Aging Project’ run by Professor Philip Tew, Dr Nick Hubble and Dr Jago Morrison at the Brunel Centre for Contemporary Writing (BCCW), between 2009 and 2012.
The project utilised Mass Observation directives to gather data on representations of aging society. This involved analysing responses from 193 participants and conducting reading groups with U3A members in London to discuss novels featuring aging characters. The project resulted in a conference, policy report, and academic publications on the cultural dynamics of aging in Britain.
