Our climbing wall was one of the very first indoor climbing facilities in the country. It dates back to 1972 and still provides exciting indoor climbing to this day.
Measuring 35 metres by 7.5 metres it consists of an epoxy resin and concrete climbing surface with rock insert holds. It caters for bouldering, top roping, and lead climbing. It has many features including cracks, arêtes, flakes, grooves and overhangs. In addition there is an excellent training area for the novice, which boasts a number of ledges that allow for skill development.
It has undergone many phases of development including a custom built bouldering area called the "Pump room" with curved resin panels built in 1992. In total the combined areas give over 350 square metres of wall surface.
