AV Services supply audio-visual presentation facilities in the Lecture Centre, Howell Building, Eastern Gateway Auditorium and other timetabled lecture rooms.
The AV team provides technical support, maintaining a number of permanent installations and a stock of mobile and loan equipment, for the presentation of audio visual media. Our intention is to ensure equipment is in place, working and fit for purpose when needed. We respond to technical faults arising and offer training and advice. We support equipment in over 200 rooms across campus as well as conferences and events.

Priority
Bookings are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
Rooms we service
We will prioritise bookings for centrally timetabled teaching spaces. Where possible, we will accept bookings in other spaces on campus. Where we aren't able to set up equipment for your presentation we may be able to provide equipment to you on a loan basis.
Cancellation
If you need to cancel your booking, please let us know as early as possible.
Computer Access
To use an installed PC in a centrally timetabled space you will need to use a valid Brunel login.
The Solstice Pod integrates Mersive’s award-winning Solstice collaboration software with a dedicated hardware platform to deliver a wireless content sharing solution.
The Solstice User Guide provides a summary of how Solstice works for users, including an overview of a Solstice system and steps for users to connect, share and control content on a Solstice wireless display using laptops, mobile devices and the display’s user interface. Solstice is compatible with virtually any display and can improves meeting room efficiency, engagement and productivity.
Solstice Pods are currently avalaible in select locations across campus.
Soltice Welcome Screen
When viewing a Solstice display that is not in use you will see the welcome screen containing the Solstice display name, a screen key, network information, user connection instructions and the Solstice display menu.
Solstice App - How to connect
First time users that have not previously installed the Solstice user software app have two options: download the user app from the Mersive downloads page or download the app directly from the host by typing the IP address/network information into a browser on your device.
To connect to a Soltice display:
- Run the solstice app
- Select "Enter IP" tab
- Enter the IP address of the Solstice display
- Enter the 4 digit session code into the pop up
- Choose what you would like to share

Audio Visual Services provide a hosted streaming service to allow conferences and events at the University to be broadcast live online. It can be used for academic, corporate or Student's Union events and functions.
To book live streaming you'll need to send an email to av-booking@brunel.ac.uk at least one week before your event with the following information;
- Name of organiser:
- Name of event:
- Start time of event:
- Finish time of event:
- Event information:
- Intended audience:
Bookings are accepted on a first come, first served basis and are subject to availability of equipment.
Once we have your information and have accepted your request we will set up a streaming event on the Livestream website. You will then be provided with a link and/or embed code. If you want your event streamed directly to social media we can assist. We can provide analytics and viewing figures for the stream once it has taken place.
Please note that streamed content must be appropriate for viewers inside and outside of the University. Streams will be cut or interrupted if live content is deemed to be inappropriate. All content will be published under the ownership of Brunel University London and may be removed without notice.

Panopto links with Brightspace to make sharing video content with your students easy and intuitive.
Panopto capture software for Windows and Mac is easy to install and easy to use. Panopto's support for multi-camera video capture makes it easy to capture the instructor, the content of their screen, a document camera and more.
