Inaugural Lecture: From Hobby to Research Field, Atanas Ivanov

We invite you to register for the inaugural lecture of Professor Atanas Ivanov.

Atanas has combined his family tradition of mechanical manufacturing engineering with his passion (or hobby) for chemistry and material science in his very specialised research field of micro electrochemical machines. He is now designing and making the best micro electrochemical machines in the world, and is the only researcher in this field in the whole of the UK.

In his inaugural lecture, Atanas will tell us about his career journey and how his hobby has become his career, leading ultimately to his appointment as Professor. Does he feel lonely working in such a specialised field?

Atanas will explain many of the real-life applications of his research including collaboration with industry.
