Summary
I am a Senior Lecturer in Economics in the Department of Economics and Finance at Brunel University London. Prior to this, I held academic positions at the University of Westminster, Birkbeck College, University College London, and also gained professional experience at the European Central Bank.
My research focuses on Applied Macroeconomics, with current projects exploring topics such as income and wealth inequality, the economic impacts of climate change, monetary and fiscal policy dynamics, and the effects of economic uncertainty.
Qualifications
I hold a PhD in Economics from Birkbeck College, University of London, a master’s degree in European Economic Studies from the University of Reading, and a degree in Business Studies from the University of Piraeus, Greece.
Responsibility
At Brunel University, I contribute to the Department of Economics and Finance through a combination of teaching, research, administration, and academic leadership. I design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Macroeconomics and Econometrics, supervise PhD students as well as master's and undergraduate dissertations, and support students as a personal tutor.
I conduct and publish research in Applied Macroeconomics, focusing on the distributional effects of policy, energy, and climate shocks. I also lead collaborative projects with researchers and policy institutions, fostering research groups that address relevant and topical macroeconomic issues to advance both academic discourse and policy-making.
In addition, I organise the Induction Days, Welcome Back Events, and Transition Days, and I edit the module summary handbooks. I also serve as an external examiner for other universities and as an associate editor for economic journals.
