Summary

Lucia Berry's teaching interests lie in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy and Healthcare Leadership. With extensive experience across four different London NHS trusts, including Guys and St Thomas, Chelsea and Westminster, Imperial, and Royal Free NHS Trust, Lucia has held both clinical and management roles. Her diverse background equips her with a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare landscape, enabling her to provide valuable insights and guidance to her students.

As the Pathway Lead for Advanced Practice in Pelvic Health at Brunel University, Lucia plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the curriculum for this specialised area. She ensures that the programmes are aligned with healthcare service needs and foster an interprofessional focus, encouraging all healthcare professionals to work and learn together.

Lucia is an advocate for interprofessional education and collaborative team-based learning. Her research focuses on the education of pelvic health across the healthcare workforce and the impact this education has on improving healthcare services for patients. Through collaborations with the healthcare industry via service evaluations and targeted research, she strives to continuously improve the education she provides and expand this knowledge internationally, supporting and enhancing pelvic health education globally.

In addition to her leadership responsibilities, Lucia actively supports both the BSc and MSc Physiotherapy pre-registration programs. Her contributions include teaching during study blocks, overseeing clinical placements, and guiding students through their research projects. Through these activities, she aims to provide a comprehensive and integrative learning experience that prepares students for successful careers in physiotherapy.
