Five days on: 30 September & 7, 14, 21, 28 October 2016
The MEnS Consortium, invites you to join the first postgraduate level training short course in the UK, free to eligible applicants in the UK.
The following key topics will be covered with a focus on housing:
- European and UK policies and regulations towards Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB)
- Design tools for achieving NZEB retrofit. Introduction to modelling tools and guidelines.
- Thermal performance and energy consumption analysis of existing case-study
- Materials for retrofit and building fabric energy performance.
- Energy systems and renewable technologies for retrofit solutions.
- Management and financial issues necessary for a shift to NZEB design.
Attendance and successful completion of associated coursework is worth 20 postgraduate UK university credits (10 ECTS).

Update on 2nd Edition of Short Course 4-8 July 2016 at Brunel University London.
The 2nd Edition of MEnS short course on ‘Nearly Zero Buildings Retrofit’ took place in at the Uxbridge campus of Brunel University London 4-8 July 2016. It was a successful course with more than 30 professionals which included lectures and workshops. Students are now working on associated coursework which is due to finish in September 2016.
Update on 1st Edition of Short Course 29 February – 4 March 2016 at Brunel University London.
The 1st Edition of MEnS short course on ‘Nearly Zero Buildings Retrofit’ took place in at the Uxbridge campus of Brunel University London 29 February-4 March 2016. It was a successful course with more than 30 professionals which included lectures and workshops. Currently students are now working on associated coursework which is due to finish in May 2016.
Update on Short Course 25-27 Nov 2015 in Building Design Centre, Islington, London
The FMS short course took place in London 25-27 November 2015. It was a successful event with more than 40 professionals.
Short Course 25-27 Nov 2015 in Building Design Centre, Islington, London
A short course on ‘Front Meeting of Skills on NZEB and retrofit for buildings managers and professionals’ will be held at the Building Design Centre in Islington London. This promises to be an interdisciplinary training and learning experience to increase your knowledge and skills on key aspects of buildings retrofit towards Nearly Zero Energy standards.
