The group has been involved with the production of radiation tolerant vacuum phototriodes (VPTs) and their HV filters for the Large Hadron Collider CMS endcap electromagnetic calorimeter. Samples of cut and polished VPT faceplates and complete tubeshave been evaluated using Brunel 60Co facilities to assess their performance in the extreme radiation environment they will be subjected to when in use in CMS.
