The Experimental Techniques Centre is home to a range of large and small scale characterisation facilities that are managed by a team of dedicated scientific officers. To maximise the benefit of accessing our facilities we offer classroom and hands-on training to internal and external users and in addition to full consultancy services.
We are housed in purpose-built laboratories in the Bragg Building at Brunel University London which was designed to accommodate high resolution electron microscopes and spectroscopic equipment. We have a highly skilled team with expertise covering physical and environmental sciences and engineering. We act in expert witness roles in legal matters relating to microscopic, spectroscopic and X-ray characterisation.
We maintain UKAS accreditation for a number of analytical services and have strict quality management of equipment, samples and data, which also benefits the internal academic users of the university.
ETC clients include local, national and international companies as well as internal and external university research groups.
