Brill Nijhoff Publishers will be celebrating the launch of the Asian Yearbook of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (AYBHRHL) with an international inaugural conference focusing on ISIS and Human Rights and Humanitraian Law issues arising from the conflicts in Syria and Iraq. The conference themes will include: international and homegrown terrorism, torture, extra-judicial killings and human rights violation and the persecution of LGBT minorities.
Listed speakers include:
- Dr Ahmed Shaheed – UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief
- Mr Nazir Afzal – OBE, Chief Executive of the Police and Crime Commissioners for England & Wales
- Sir Michael Wood – UN International Law Commission
- Professor Clive Walker – Leeds University
- Professor Robert Winemute – Kings College London
