Academy Programme
Schedule of activities of the second Brunel Fellowship Academy, summer 2024
Prior to arrival – various Brunel activities, particularly online activities, including:
- Play participant role in the relevant BRIL event and champion work that will lead to the development of 1 interdisciplinary bid.
- Deliverable in conjunction with Brunel academics: Draft that will lead to joint interdisciplinary grant application.
Interdisciplinary research programme
- Lead the implementation of a pre-agreed joint research workplan alongside Brunel researchers addressing a specific interdisciplinary challenge area and building on previous work as well as recent achievements in the relevant discipline(s).
- Deliverables in conjunction with Brunel academics: 1 preliminary draft study paper that will lead to a submission to a national/international symposium/workshop + research collaboration that will lead to 1 high-quality collaborative research output (3*–4*, i.e. of quality that's internationally excellent or world-leading) submitted to a highly ranked journal + end of fellowship report outlining the work done, the deliverables produced and the follow-up work planned with the mentor and their research team.
Seminar
- Deliver at least 1 interdisciplinary seminar to Brunel/External audience on the agreed interdisciplinary topic of the FA visit.
- Deliverable: 1 or more seminars.
Masterclass
Collaborate with other IKB Fellows and Brunel staff to deliver Masterclasses, for all from Doctoral Researchers upwards on general research-related issues such as:
- How to succeed with interdisciplinary research
- Publicizing research outside the institution
- Working with industry
- Deliverables: Masterclasses.
