Brunel Language Centre is British Council Accredited and recognised by the English Language Gazette as a Centre of Excellence.
Our Pre-sessional courses
- Both online and on-campus courses are face-to-face, informative, fun and fully interactive
- Maximum number of participants 14 (normally no more than 12)
- 19 hours of study a week, plus individual/small group tutorial
- Minimum age 17
- Pass rate is 96% to 100%
- Free digital course book
- End-of-course test available online

Entry requirements
To apply for a Pre-sessional course, you must:
- Hold an offer for your main academic course.
- Have a recognised English qualification, such as IELTS (students who require a Student Visa must hold a SELT, such as 'Academic IELTS for UKVI')

Please note: You will only be able to apply for a Student Visa to undertake a Pre-sessional English course if you have a Secure English Language Test (SELT):

Some IELTS centres run both kinds of Academic IELTS so you must make sure you book the UKVI recognised Academic IELTS called ‘IELTS test for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) purposes’.

Assessment
At the end of the programme, all students following the Pre-sessional programme will sit the Brunel English Language Test (BrunELT). You will be tested on your writing, reading, speaking and listening skills and will receive a score for each component as well as an overall score.

Holiday
We recommend that students only make plans to leave the UK during the longer Brunel Language Centre closure periods of 3 weeks.
Students are advised not to make plans to leave the UK during term time.
Teaching will not take place on the following dates, which include Brunel Language Centre holiday dates and Bank Holidays. Bank Holidays are public holidays and the university and many businesses will be closed on these dates.
2024:

PLEASE NOTE STUDENTS ON ENGLISH COURSES DUE TO FINISH IN DECEMBER 2024 SHOULD ENSURE THAT THEY ARE AVAILABLE UP UNTIL FRIDAY 13 DECEMBER 2024.

Monday 5 May (Early May Bank Holiday)
