Overview

The Engineering School offers undergraduate courses in four major subject areas including Design, Civil Engineering, Electronic and Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. All programmes are designed to produce highly qualified graduates who will take up demanding roles within the engineering, design and technology industries by developing leadership, innovation and creative skills, in addition to the core technical and analytical skills, to enable and encourage graduates to follow successful careers and aspire to senior managerial roles.

Course content

In all Brunel University London Engineering degrees, students develop a range of skills valued by employers such as critical thinking, analysis and communication.

The programme syllabus is designed around the acquisition of core academic skills and literacy development that underpins successful higher education outcomes: academic research, ICT, critical thinking and the promotion of self-awareness.

A range of teaching methods are used in this module: lecture/seminar/workshop supported by a blended learning approach through the Virtual Learning Environment including the use of blogs to support learning. There will be continual interaction through classroom based formative exercises which will enable individual and small group learning opportunities.
