Casper Pilot

All applicants applying to the Medicine MBBS at Brunel University London are invited to complete Casper as part of a Pilot with NHS England, during the 2023/2024 admissions cycle.

Taking the Casper test does not confer any advantage over students who have not taken it.

Casper is a standardised, online assessment that measures the types of competencies and attributes that are important to succeed in the programme and in a medical career. In participating in the Casper Pilot, you are contributing to our efforts to further enhance fairness and objectivity of our selection process.

Casper: 90 - 110 minute online, open-response situational judgement test.

How to complete Casper:

In order to take Casper, you will need a laptop or desktop computer with webcam and audio capabilities and a reliable internet connection. You will need to create an account on the Acuity web site before beginning Casper. You will be asked to show a Government-issued photo ID (English/French) for account validation and your email address should be the one you use for your application to Brunel Medical School.

Important: To account for identity verification and payment processing timelines, ensure that you register for your test at least 3 days before your preferred test date and time. Last-minute bookings are not recommended

PLEASE DO NOT PAY FOR YOUR CASPER TEST. You can use the following Fee Waiver Code in Step 6 of the Reservation Process:  BRUNUKNHS-PP23

  1. Ensure you have selected Brunel University London for distribution before the posted distribution deadline. Likely, there will be no additional tests scheduled, but the most up-to-date information can be found by browsing the Test Dates and Times on acuityinsights.app.

How to prepare for Casper:

Going into the test knowing what to expect is the best way to prepare for Casper! Once you register for an Acuity Account, you can find a full 14-scenario sample test containing both the video and typed response sections that you can use to practice as many times as you like.
