DBS Update Service
The DBS Update Service allows individuals to keep their DBS certificate valid and up to date and allows employers to check a certificates validity online. If you currently hold an Enhanced DBS certificate and are registered with the DBS Update Service, you may not need to complete a new DBS application for Brunel.
If you are subscribed to the Update Service and paying the subscription fee instead of providing ID you will be asked to provide a copy of your DBS certificate and sign a consent form so that we can check the status of your DBS online. You won't have to pay for a new DBS or complete a new DBS application.
Please note PGCE applicants are required to be checked against childrens barred list only. For all other courses applicants are checked against both the childrens and adults barred lists.
You can only use this option if you have subscribed to the DBS Update Service. For more information about the Update Service please visit the DBS update service website.
How to subscribe your Brunel DBS!
You can subscribe to the Update Service once you have a DBS from Brunel. You will need your DBS application reference number. This number is generated when you submit an online application and can be requested by contacting the DBS Team on DBS@brunel.ac.uk.
