You’ll have the opportunity to put your learning into practice, build up your employability skills and get a taste of what life is like before stepping out into the creative industries as a graduate.
We encourage and support you to take up work experience, through internships and placements. Theatre BA students will have the option to do a full year-long workplace, or complete 70 hours of professional work experience, which can be done in blocks at any point during the relevant year. You could take up experience over the multiple shorter breaks in term time, part-time during your course or even in the summer! This flexibility allows you prioritise what you came here for (you’re degree!) while still allowing you to seek out opportunities that can get your foot in the door.
We won’t just send you off to do work experience in often demanding roles. We host a dedicated two-day Professional Experience and Development 'boot camp' to prepare you before you go on an industry experience relevant to your career aspirations with support throughout the process.
Apart from the wide number of theatre-related work opportunities which you will be able to explore, our subject team also has well established links with theatre venues and companies across London and the UK. Their industry experience means you can benefit from contacts in the world of theatre and performance to gain quality work experience and even graduate opportunities.
