You’ll have the opportunity to join Studio Brunel, our student-led university theatre company at Brunel.
The company provides a platform for students to collaborate together and create their own work. There are opportunities available for producers, directors, writers, performers, musicians, lighting and sound technicians, designers, photographers, videographers and more.
Run by a committee of students from Theatre and a variety of disciplines, it is also supported by the Creative Life and the Arts and Humanities Department. The committee curates the programme of events for the year including theatre performances, showcases, concerts and social activities.
Studio Brunel is committed to producing high quality, distinctive work. The company supports students to create their own theatre productions and creative events to the best of their ability, offering opportunities to complement their studies. Examples of past endeavours include a multimedia adaption of Medea directed by a Brunel graduate, a performance of an original student-written play and the formation of the Studio Brunel house band to play at university events.
Studio Brunel will give you the opportunity to further develop your skills in the performing arts, while giving you valuable experience in running a business, planning and delivering large-scale events, producing a full-length production, designing posters and online content, and performing to audiences of up to 200 people. The feedback from students is overwhelmingly positive and Studio Brunel often helps our students narrow down their future career plans in discovering what area they want to work in.
