Summary

Ahsan Ayaz is a PhD researcher in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Brunel University London, supervised by Dr. Mayo Adetoro. His research focuses on "Nonlinear Structural Dynamics and the Manufacture of Scaled Domains". He received his Masters and Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering from the Institute of Space Technology (IST), Islamabad. His Master's thesis explored aeroelastic tailoring, investigating the use of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) to replace the Al7075-T6 spar in a Pazy wing and analyzing its impact on the wing's structural behavior. His Bachelor's thesis was focused on the aerodynamic analysis of Micro Vortex Generators on an aircraft wing, investigating the boundary layer control and its influence on wing performance.

Work Experience

He worked as a Lab Engineer for three year at IST with the responsibilities of Conduction of Labs, Final Year Project Coordination and a Member of Research Group working on INVELOX wind turbines. As a Graduate Research Assistant and Research Assistant, he collaborated with a team for one and a half years to design and develop prototypes of ducted wind turbines with capacities of 400W and 2.5KW, respectively.
