Research Interests

Caroline specialises in animation, and has published widely on the concept of craft in animation practices and the representation of identity onscreen. She is the author of the monograph The Besieged Ego, which critically appraises the representation of doppelgangers and split or fragmentary characters onscreen across live-action and animation. Caroline has also edited 4 book collections.

Caroline is the Book Series Editor of Palgrave Animation, alongside Professor Paul Ward. 

Caroline is Associate Editor for animation: an interdisciplinary journal, published by Sage.
