Dr Nolan's research interests include strategies to increase engagement in and alternative models of rehabilitation programmes for people living with chronic lung conditions and multiple long-term conditions. She has expertise in intervention co-design, mixed-methodologies, as well as feasibility and randomised controlled trials.

- Funding for the Executive Dean’s PhD Studentship in Experience-based codesign for effective physical activity interventions with working age adults living with multiple long-term conditions
- Fully funded Ph.D. Studentship in the Department of Health Sciences, Brunel University London to co-design and test an intervention to increase referral and uptake rates for pulmonary rehabilitation amongst people living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
