Ms Diane Astin
Senior Lecturer - Legal Practice

Summary

Diane Astin joined Brunel University London in July 2018 as a Lecturer in Legal Practice. She has previously taught law at the Universities of Westminster and North London.  She is also a practicing solicitor and a consultant for a leading civil liberties and human rights firm.   In her legal practice she specialises in housing law, public law, asylum support and disability discrimination.  She is currently a member of the Civil Justice Council. 

Qualifications

Bachelor of Arts (1st class hons) from Newcastle University, Graduate Diploma in Law (distinction) from Northumbria University and Master of Laws (merit) from the London School of Economics. 

Responsibility

Routes of qualification for solicitors, the Solicitors Qualifying Examination and other changes being introduced by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
