Governance of social media and online communities (i.e., Reddit) is an important issue for bright Internet. For example, cyberbullying and trolling became one of the major risks to the social and emotional dimensions of wellbeing as people's lives move to cyberspaces over the world. About 15% to 41% of adolescents have experiences of committing cyberbullying behavior during their lifetime. Cyberbullying is reported to induce depression, self-harming behaviours, and even committing suicides. Recently, the interference of AI and Bots causes disruption in the social interaction and collective decision makings on the social media and online communities. The study on the governance of socila media and online communities aims at understanding how and why those disruptive phenomena take place. The study usually use archive data available on the Internet, and the analysis of such big data requires computational methods. Students who wish to explore this topic are expected to have mathematical and computational background.
