Teaching

Kate has been a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2018. In 2024, she was nominated by students for the Ken Darby-Dowman Memorial Prize for contribution to student experience.

At Brunel, she has set up the module EN2611 21st Century Fictions of Global Inequality, as well as being Module Lead for EN1611 World Literature, and EN2610 Contemporary British and Irish Fiction. She also supervises final year undergraduate and MA dissertations.

She has previously been nominated for and/or won student-led awards across various institutions for 'Excellent Teaching', 'Excellent Module', 'Outstanding Personal Tutor' and 'Inclusive Lecturer'.
