Miss Sophie Preston
PhD Student
Research area(s)
Sophie's research aims to deconstruct the benefits of pro-resolution peptides through a combination of in vivo murine stroke models and in vitro endothelial, platelet and neutrophil functional assays. Characteristics of the inflammatory state will be assessed using numberous microscopy techniques, immunoassays, flow cytometry and molecular biology techniques.
Research Interests
- Murine and human neutrophil cellular functional responses to inflammation resolution peptides in vitro under inflammatory conditions such as ischaemic/reperfusion injury.
- The therapeutic potential of inflammation resolution peptides for improving cerebral protection in multiple murine stroke models.
