Summary

Xiaohui Liu joined Brunel University of London as a Professor of Computing in 2000. Over the years, he has held several visiting positions, including at Leiden University (2004), Harvard Medical School (2005), and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2010). In 1995, he founded the International Symposium on Intelligent Data Analysis (IDA) to advance an interdisciplinary approach to data analysis, drawing on techniques from statistics, artificial intelligence, and related fields. With over three decades of experience in AI, data science, and optimisation, Professor Liu has been recognised by Clarivate/Web of Science as a Highly Cited Researcher for 11 consecutive years (since 2014) in categories such as Computer Science, Engineering, and Cross-Field research.
