Entrepreneurs' Workshop
Last summer, Brunel ran its first ever entrepreneurs’ workshop especially for alumni. The three day session covered a range of topics such as business plans, regulations, networking, business psychology and social media. We will be running a similar event this August and we would love to meet some more SME owners and budding entrepreneurs to help give more alumni business ventures a boost.
In 2014, the alumni attending came from a range of business types, with varying levels of experience and at different stages of running their own enterprise.
“I came away from the event feeling more inspired and determined to make my business a bigger success. I learnt from the speakers as well as my fellow alumni members and would highly recommend the Innovation Hub to anyone interested in growing or developing their business ideas.”
Nabila El-Zanaty (2007 graduate)
“I've been working for a long time and started my own business 11 years ago. I was looking for a way to develop my business further as it (I) felt 'stuck' - lots of ideas but not acting on them. This event really helped me refocus and gave me some very concrete actions that I know I must now take. A great bunch of people attending and great input from the presenters and organisers.”
Steve Whiddett (1987 graduate)
The details are currently being finalised, but the event is planned for the week beginning 10 August 2015, so please save the date. If you would like to register your interest and to be notified once the details are available, please email alumni@brunel.ac.uk and we will make sure you are kept in the loop.
