Bishopshalt School is a secondary school with specialisations in music and performing arts. The school aims to foster confident speakers of modern languages and to support students in gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation of the culture where these languages are spoken by promoting interactions with native speakers. They currently offer French and Spanish at A-level.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will help students to improve their proficiency in a specific language in a supportive and encouraging environment. As Language Assistant, you will gain a set of skills such as tutoring, communication, and public speaking.
Typical duties include:
- Assisting language teachers with the plan and preparation of lessons
- Engaging in conversation with the students
- Helping students to get better at pronunciation and accent
- Supporting students with language exercises such as writing, and reading comprehension
Please note, this role require a DBS check, a CV and the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
