Summary
Supervisors: Johannes Birringer & Tanya KryzwinskaDoros Polydorou is a Cyprus born interactive designer, working with real time 3d graphics. He has completed a BSc in Multimedia Design and Technology and an MSc in Computer Animation. He is currently in the write-up phase of his doctoral thesis. He is a member of the DAP Lab team and he has already worked as a graphics and 3d interaction designer for "Suna no Onna" and "Ukiyo 2" performances.His research involves the development of a platform for interactive 3d real time dance performances. His system is using state of the art game engines, a camera vision system and wearable sensors. The platform collects data from the movement of the body and uses them to shift and transform a virtual environment. His thesis investigates both the technological as well as the conceptual and theoretical aspects of an immersive environment exploring the limits of technology that connect the physical body, the mind and the virtual consciousness.
