Croft, J. (2012) 'Malédictions d'une furie'. The work was premiered at the Turner Contemporary as part of the Sounds New Festival 2012, with Lore Lixenberg as the Fury, to a sell-out audience. Hilary Finch in The Times wrote “These are the cries, whispers and murmurings of a Fury furious with Chronos, the god of time, and with human mortality. Croft’s setting cunningly pits the message of the text ... against a sense of the consolation and beauty to be found in mutability ... a compelling 45 minutes ...” There are plans to record the work in full, but there is already a short film about the work available from furie.eu.
Croft, J. (2012) 'Intermedio III'. This piece won the Prix Ton Bruynèl 2012 and has been performed numerous times in Europe and New Zealand, including the 2012 Gaudeamus Muziekweek. The jury of the Prix describes the piece as 'a perfect integration of instrumental properties and electronics' and 'a fragile equilibrium in which tension and virtuosic quality is felt during the entire composition'.
