Nanophosphors, photoluminescent materials, inorganic and organometallic materials, Mössbauer Spectroscopy.

Professor Silver’s current research interests are the synthesis, characterisation and processing of novel inorganic and polymer materials. His work on phosphors and display materials encompasses photoluminescence and cathodoluminescence for fluorescent lighting applications, electroluminescence for use in displays and infra-red emitting phosphors for military applications.
