The first stream of research lies in the intersection of strategic risk management and corporate governance and examines how firm performance and major strategic decisions i.e., mergers, are affected by the two-way interaction between the CEO and board members.

The second stream of research investigates mergers and acquisitions (M&A) timing and performance taking an inter-disciplinary approach and combining arguments from strategic management and corporate finance literature
