At the Experimental Techniques Centre, we have a number of electron microscopes to cater for a wide variety of materials, samples and products.

This top-end high resolution transmission electron microscope is used on nanostructured materials. Equipped with an Electron Energy Loss Spectrometer (EELS) and cathodoluminescence detector, this instrument is one of only a handful in the UK. Features include mapping capability, electron diffraction for crystalline information and tomography for 3D imaging.
