Rigaku X-ray fluorescence
At the Experimental Techniques Centre, we have a number of techniques and instruments to cater for a wide variety of materials, samples and products.
A non-destructive analytical technique, X-Ray fluorescence is invaluable for investigating trace amounts of material, in many cases down to parts per million. Operating on the same physical principles as the EDX systems on the electron microscopes, this specialised instrument is far more accurate, for when you are looking for very low quantities of a specific element. The XRF can even handle liquid samples and thin films.
