At the Experimental Techniques Centre, we have a number of electron microscopes to cater for a wide variety of materials, samples and products.

A brand-new state of the art high-end electron microscope installed in 2023, this instrument provides 0.537 nm resolution at the highest magnification, scanning and transmission capabilities and is also equipped with the Alicona texture analysis software and a Deben in-situ tensile stage with 100-300 N load cell. Its EBSD detector instrument enables faster mapping acquisitions than other instruments.
