The inclusion of LGBT+ people in the provision of domestic abuse services was the cause advanced by Dr Pam Alldred in her latest presentation.
Barcelona’s Fundacio SURT completed a project to explore the need for this and ways of achieving inclusive services. Galop’s Peter Kelley was the other keynote for this international conference, so the UK’s steps towards inclusion were well acknowledged, as experiences from Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece and Hungary were shared with a large audience of Spanish and Catalan service providers. Brunel’s GAP Work Project was cited as a key launch point of this inclusive approach and training materials for professionals to understand and tackle gender-related violence are still freely available.
