Cities arouse all kind of passions and feelings both positive and negative. In this talk I discuss why we should pay closer attention to how experiences shape urban life, culture, politics and the economy. Ultimately, the city is more than just a collection of buildings - the smells, sounds, textures, tastes, sights and rhythms all contribute to our urban experience, and how the city is sold, structured and shaped.
