About us

The Research Centre for the Assessment of Structures and Materials under Extreme Conditions is a unique research centre in the UK with a world class capability.  Our members provide a strong and established expertise in computational simulation, treatment of uncertainty, structures and materials and relevant engineering applications, benefitting from strong connections with Brunel’s other strategic research groupings and facilities such as the ETC. 

The objectives of the centre are cognate with the scope of NSIRC, and support collaboration with other recognised centres at Brunel including BCAST and ETC. The centre provides a demonstrated capability in predictive numerical models for dynamic structural response which, when combined with variability of properties, supports an internationally leading capability in simulation based and probabilistic design.
